Acute angle-closure glaucoma

The iris bows forward and closes the angle where aqueous drains. Pressure in the eye climbs within hours, threatening the optic nerve: an emergency.

Installation

bunx shadcn@4.22.1 add @organui/acute-angle-closure-glaucoma

This adds acute-angle-closure-glaucoma.tsx, the disease's data and component, to your components directory. It is built on the disease viewer and reuses the models of the eye, which install with it.

Usage

import { AcuteAngleClosureGlaucoma } from "@/components/acute-angle-closure-glaucoma"

export function AcuteAngleClosureGlaucomaDemo() {
  return <AcuteAngleClosureGlaucoma />
}

Every structure is a finding: affected structures are amber and spared ones muted. Select one, in 3D or in the panel, to read what the disease does there.

Course

Set stage or defaultStage to one of these. Each stage changes which structures are affected and the investigations to expect.

  1. Attack "attack"

    Hours old. Lower the pressure now: acetazolamide, pressure-lowering drops and pilocarpine to pull the iris away from the angle, then laser.

    Affects 4 structures of the eye.

  2. Iridotomy "iridotomy"

    The attack is over. A laser hole in the peripheral iris lets aqueous bypass the pupil, the iris flattens and the angle reopens. The other eye is treated too.

    Affects 2 structures of the eye.

  3. Damaged "glaucomatous"

    Treatment came late. The angle has scarred shut in places and the optic nerve is damaged; the lost vision does not return.

    Affects 4 structures of the eye.

Without Panel

Hide the panel to place the model in your own layout, and choose the scale and stage with props.

Controlled

Drive the stage, scale and selection from your own state, such as a patient's timeline.
