7461b36: Every item installs on shadcn's Radix styles as well as Base UI: a
{style}
registry URL (https://organui.com/r/styles/{style}/{name}.json) serves
Radix projects a Radix build, with Radix copies of the anatomy tree, the
organ, molecule and image viewers, the DNA helix and the blocks' components.New items:
- AI Elements, built on shadcn's components: AI disclaimer, clinical
citation (Hover Card and Button), clinical sources (Trace), differential
list and clinician review (Item), and AI note. - Helpers: age, z-scores, reference ranges, clinical units and body
measurements. The growth chart and lab results table now install the
ones they use. - Utilities: one item adds the heartbeat, ECG grid and severity classes to
the CSS file, as shadcn's utilities come together.
Blocks: Dashboard 01, one patient at a glance with vital signs, a live ECG,
lab results and the day's medicines.Charts: 21 charts of health data (area, bar, line, pie, radar and radial)
built on shadcn's chart and card, each installable like shadcn's charts.Every component documents each prop with a doc comment, which the docs
show as its API Reference.Blocks carry the height /blocks frames them at, in
meta.iframeHeight. - AI Elements, built on shadcn's components: AI disclaimer, clinical
Icons now follow your project's icon library. Nothing is breaking: re-run shadcn add for an item to take its changes.
bunx shadcn@4.22.1 add @organui/organ-viewer @organui/image-viewer @organui/lab-resultsIcons follow your icon library
Items used to draw their icons as inline SVG. They now use shadcn's IconPlaceholder, as shadcn's own registry does, so shadcn add writes icons from the iconLibrary in your components.json: lucide, tabler, hugeicons, phosphor or remixicon. The icon package is the one shadcn init already installed.
This changes the organ viewer (and every organ built on it), molecule viewer, DNA helix, image viewer, lab results, vital signs, medication schedule, body map and both explorer blocks. Charts and body outlines are still drawn as SVG.
Fixes
- Growth chart: its empty state is now shadcn's
Empty, so it installsempty. - Image viewer: the window presets are in a
SelectGroup. - Body map: the remove mark on a chosen region is an icon instead of a text "×".
Site
- Component docs moved to
/docs/components/<name>. The old/docs/<name>addresses that earlier installs print still redirect. - A components index listing every component A–Z, and an organs gallery with a picture of each organ.
- A 404 page, error pages, security headers and a skip link.
Docs: https://organui.com/docs
Five new components. Nothing is breaking: upgrading from v0.2.0 only adds items.
bunx shadcn@4.22.1 add @organui/cell @organui/body-map @organui/dermatome-map @organui/image-viewer @organui/growth-chartNew components
- Cell (docs): a 3D animal cell with a quarter cut away, 15 selectable structures and 4 named views. It's built on the organ viewer and works with the anatomy tree. The model is an original CC0 schematic.
- Body map (docs): a front and back body outline for recording where something hurts. Regions are selectable by pointer or keyboard, and the value is a list of region IDs. Sides are the patient's.
- Dermatome map (docs): the 28 ISNCSCI sensory levels (C2 to S4–5) on a front and back body map, with key sensory points. It's a simplified illustration, not a clinical tool.
- Medical image viewer (docs): a CT/MRI slice viewer with window/level presets, zoom, pan and pixel values. It installs
lib/dicom.ts, a reader for uncompressed single-frame grayscale DICOM, andlib/head-phantom.ts, a synthetic head phantom to use as sample data. - Growth chart (docs): percentile curves and z-scores for weight, length/height and head circumference. It ships no growth data. You pass the reference tables yourself. WHO's tables need WHO's permission for commercial use (in WHO's
anthropackage they're GPL-3), so the docs explain where to get WHO or CDC tables and under what terms.
Also
- The organ viewer, molecule viewer, DNA helix and image viewer now say in their install message that they need one of shadcn's Base UI styles, such as
base-nova. On a Radix style, their toolbar buttons silently do nothing. - Registry items require
cn@^0.5.0, and a test keeps item dependency ranges in step with the versions the registry is tested against.
Docs: https://organui.com/docs
Organs and blocks now install the way shadcn's own items do: each item ships only its own files and depends on the @organui items it uses, so organ-viewer is installed once and shared.
@organui is listed in shadcn's registry directory, so the namespace works with no setup:
bunx shadcn@4.22.1 add @organui/heartInstalling by URL (https://organui.com/r/heart.json) also works. The CLI adds @organui to your components.json automatically.
Breaking changes
- Organs ship only
components/<organ>.tsxand depend on@organui/organ-viewer, instead of each carrying a copy oforgan-viewer.tsx. - Blocks ship only their own files and depend on
@organui/*items, such asanatomy-tree, organs andorgan-viewer. lab-resultsinstalls tocomponents/ui/lab-results.tsx(it wascomponents/lab-results.tsx). Update imports to@/components/ui/lab-results.- A
#v0.2.0GitHub pin is partly unpinned. The item comes from the tag, but its@organuidependencies resolve from organui.com, so they follow the latest release. To keep everything self-contained, pin tov0.1.0.
Also since v0.1.0
- After install, every item prints a link to its docs. Organs also print their model's licence and ask you to keep the viewer's credit visible.
- ECG trace: the grid is red ECG paper by default and can be themed with
--ecg-grid. - Accessibility (WCAG 2.5.3, label in name): anatomy tree rows are named with their visible state (for example "Heart, visible"), and DNA base-pair buttons now match their visible letters. Code that finds tree rows by exact accessible name needs updating.
- Dependency updates: Next 16.4, React 19.3, Base UI 1.9, axe 4.14.
Docs: https://organui.com/docs
The first tagged release of the OrganUI registry. Every item is self-contained: each organ ships its own copy of organ-viewer.tsx, and each block ships every file it uses, so nothing needs the @organui namespace.
Pin to this layout
Install from GitHub at this tag:
bunx shadcn@4.22.1 add organui/organui/heart#v0.1.0The next release changes how organs and blocks install: they will depend on @organui/organ-viewer and other @organui items instead of copying them, and lab-results will move to components/ui/. Pin to v0.1.0 if you want to stay on the current layout.
Included
- 42 organs on a shared three.js organ viewer, with model credits and licences
